Overview

Clay Center, Kansas is located at the Junction of U S Highway 24 and Kansas Highway 15 where you are greeted by the beautiful natural geese sculpture, “The Spirit of the Wild Things”. With a public library, a city zoo, city parks, public utilities department, a beautiful golf course, a municipal airport, retail and specialty stores, Clay Center is the heart of the local community, as well as the county seat of Clay County.

As of the census of 2010, there were 4,334 people, 1,920 households, and 1,172 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,407 inhabitants per square mile (543.3/km2). There were 2,158 housing units at an average density of 700.6 per square mile (270.5/km2).
